The NuWave oven combines conduction, convection and infrared heating methods to cook food in about half the time required by a conventional oven. Roasting a whole chicken in a NuWave oven results in a tender, juicy bird, ready in about an hour.
What you will need:
Your usual seasonings for whole chicken. I normally use Montreal Grill Mates Seasoning and Onion Powder (or minced)
Whole Chicken 4-6 pounds on your preference
Season inside and out with your seasonings. NuWave on HI for about 15 minutes per pound. Place breast side down on 1" rack and turn 1/2 way through cooking time. Season the top and continue to cook the rest of the time.
If your whole chicken is frozen: Keep a couple of whole frozen chickens in the freezer as they cook amazingly well in the NuWave Oven.
When you buy fresh chickens to freeze, remove the giblets first, season as desired, and wrap for the freezer. If already frozen, cook 1/2 the time, remove the giblets, season and continue the rest of the cooking time. Follow instructions above, but NuWave 25 minutes per pound.
