I like making this jambalaya recipe because it requires minimal prep time, only four ingredients and it’s a thrifty and frugal meal. It’s a favorite in my family and the best part is, is that you can cook it in your very own rice cooker!
What you will need:
Sausage – any type that is precooked.
2-3 cups of Brown rice
One can of Campbell’s Chunky Grilled Chicken and Sausage Gumbo
1 cup of water
One small onion diced (optional)
1 tablespoon of Cajun / creole seasoning (optional; more or less to taste)
Brown your sausage. I used about half a package.
In your rice cooker, add all ingredients and stir. Cook on brown rice mode. Mix when done. Makes about 7-8 servings and is freezer friendly!
