Anyway that I can save money, believe me I’m there trying it. When I first had little one, I researched high and low on all sorts of ways to save money. We LOVE to cloth diaper (in fact I might be obsessed with it) and DIY baby wipes are another thing I pride in. And they barely cost much money and time to do.
So, if your baby shower was anything like my baby shower, I got a ton of baby bath clothes (among other things). And if you didn’t they are uber cheap! I often see them at various stores for a couple of buck for a 8-10 pack.
What you will need:
Baby bath cloths
Tea Tree oil
Baby Shampoo (any brand)
Reusable storage container (you do not necessarily need a wipes warmer)
Take your cloths and fold them in half like this. I automatically do this when they come out of the dryer when I fold the laundry.
In a coffee mug, put in one scoop of coconut oil, this is approximately about a tablespoon or so, 3-4 drops of tea tree oil, and two-three pumps of baby shampoo. I used my Keurig (if you don't know what a Keurig is, you are missing out. You can get it as low as $75. Check it out here) as an easy step for me to get hot water to melt the coconut oil. Running hot water or boiled water will also do the trick as well.
Stir until the coconut oil is melted and pour your solution over your cloths. Make sure your solution is soaked through all of the wipes. If you need to do another batch, then do so.
You can roll your cloth wipes like this, especially if you are doing the warmer to evenly distribute the heat, but we don’t plug ours in anymore to conserve energy and we go cold. So I have gotten lazy over the months and just place them in my wipes container like this. It’s that easy!
