I have the worse acne prone skin.
When I was in my adolescent years, I had major crater face. I had to go to a dermatologist to help with clearing up my skin and years later my skin finally looked normal again. I’m thirty now, and I am still prone to break outs every once in awhile, especially when my little friend, Aunt Flo comes to town. Boohoo! Along with my twice daily facial routine, I have incorporated this fantastic DIY homemade charcoal face mask that does wonders to my face. Not only does it keep my face clear, it doesn’t dry it out and keeps my face soft. You only need to do it once a week!
What you will need:
Activated Charcoal pills - one pill only
Clear Aloe - the one with the pump on it for easy measurement
Tea Tree Oil – five drops only or less
Uncap a charcoal pill. The pills are nice because it’s easy to measure and its easy to keep the activated charcoal in one area. It tends to get messy. Once you have uncapped the charcoal pill, add two pumps of the clear aloe.
Add five drops of tea tree oil and not more, you can add less if your skin is sensitive, but five drops seem to be the perfect number for my face.
Mix your three products together, normally I just use my finger, but for pretty picture purposes I used this pink spoon straw that I had on-hand.
Make sure you cleanse your face before applying your face mask. Once you have done this, you can apply to your face and leave on for about 15-20 minutes. Your face will feel a little tingly from the tea tree oil and the mask will dry up. Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry. Your face will feel amazing!
